Harness the power of technology to foster faith and fellowship within your church

Koinonia is a mobile application that helps local churches build healthy, flourishing communities by accessing and participating in the life of the Church.

Our Mission

In a world where the internet and technology may be a cause for concern and where families are ever-poor in time, attention and togetherness – we want to effect change and see lives transformed by the love of Christ.

Our platform gives churches an opportunity to reach and unite congregation members, so they can empower, encourage, communicate and enjoy fellowship with one another while living in a way that glorifies God.

Share sermons, daily devotionals and more with your church

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you my discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”  Romans 12:2 (ESV)

With Koinonia, you can provide your congregation members with a continuous stream of thought-provoking content. The app gives everyone the opportunity to ask questions, share comments, and hold discussions with fellow congregation members in a secure and private space.

This content can be limited to your own, or you can subscribe to a variety of feeds such as daily devotionals, audio and video sermons, ministry insights, and pastoral blogs.

Make it easy for church members to know who they can pray for

“37. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back. 38. Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.”  1 Kings 18:37-38 (ESV)

Despite our best intentions to share and receive important prayer requests, traditional communication methods like WhatsApp can lead to messages getting lost and overlooked, leaving us disconnected from our fellow believers.

Koinonia not only makes it easy for everyone to share and comment on prayer requests, but provides everyone with an up to date list of who needs prayer.

Let everyone know what is happening and when and where

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. ”  Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)

Spending time praising, worshiping and growing together is a crucial aspect of congregational life. Not only does it allow us to connect with one another on a deeper level, but it also strengthens our individual relationship with God.

Not only will Koinonia allow you to share gatherings such as church services, bible studies and events in one central location, but it will also remind members of upcoming events to encourage participation.

Make it easier for everyone to help each other

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace”  1 Peter 4:10

While serving brings personal fulfillment and spiritual growth, it can be difficult to find meaningful opportunities to put our God-given gifts into action.

Koinonia creates a space where everyone can easily share opportunities where members can serve each other and their communities. All members will have the opportunity to see where they can get involved and can volunteer to help right within the app.

Share opportunities to give so everyone can contribute

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  2 Corinthians 9:7  (ESV)

It is important that we recognize the responsibility that comes with being good stewards of the financial blessings that God has given us.

Koinonia creates a space where it is easy for everyone to find opportunities to share their blessings, thereby allowing everyone to contribute in whichever way they can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Communicating with your church on WhatsApp is like trying to navigate a crowded street during rush hour – it’s chaotic and overwhelming. Koinonia, on the other hand, is like having a dedicated bike lane all to yourself – it’s streamlined, efficient, and gets you where you need to go faster.

While both Koinonia and WhatsApp are communication platforms that allow users to send messages, share media files, and connect with others, there are several key differences that make Koinonia a better choice for churches. Here are some benefits we strongly believe in:

Features aimed specifically at churches
Koinonia is designed specifically for churches and includes features such as sermon discussions, prayer requests, event calendars, volunteering and more. These features aren’t available on WhatsApp.

More Focused Communication
When you open Koinonia, you are presented with everything that is important in your church. This dedicated focus helps users to stay informed without things getting lost in unrelated conversations, as often happens on WhatsApp.

Enhanced Community Building
Koinonia allows churches to build a unified community by providing a central hub for sharing information, discussing ideas, and connecting with fellow members.

Increased Privacy
When it comes to using digital platforms for church communication, privacy and security are of utmost importance. Koinonia, and app built by Christians for Christians, understands this and has taken a proactive approach to safeguarding users’ information. Koinonia collects only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide its services, and this data is stored securely and protected with advanced encryption technology.

To start testing the app will only take a few minutes. Simply register for a trial account and invite a few congregation members to join you in testing out the different features of the platform. During this trial period, you can get a sense of how the app works and whether it will be a good fit for your church.

However, rolling out the app across your entire congregation is a bit more complex and can depend on a number of factors such as the size of your congregation, the level of technical expertise among your members, and your church’s existing communication infrastructure. In general, we recommend allowing several weeks to plan and prepare for a full rollout. This may involve training sessions for your staff and volunteers, as well as creating a comprehensive communication plan to help introduce the app to your congregation.
